Mount Riley Limited Release Syrah 2009
The Press, Wednesday 17th November 2010, David Killick If you didn't know it already, Marlborough produces excellent reds. This syrah is spicy buy velvety smooth, softened by a touch of viognier. Currants and a hint of chocolate are followed by a lingering peppery aftertaste. The wine seems light, but looks can be deceptive - its hefty 14.5 per cent alcohol content packs a punch. It partners well with summer dishes of meat, cheese and pasta. |
