Limited Release Sauvignon Blanc

Winemaking: Our Limited Release Sauvignon Blanc was made from a selection of our most expressive fruit from the 2010 vintage.  The majority of the blend is made from fruit grown on the vineyard that surround our winery in the Lower Wairau Valley and a small portion of the blend was grown in the Awatere Valley.  Both of these parcels show impeccable fruit expression, concentration and balance.

Grapes were crushed and destemmed prior to pressing and fermentation was induced by the introduction of carefully selected yeast strains.  We fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures to preserve the lifted aromatics in this wine.

Colour: Pale straw with green hues.
Bouquet: Crushed herb, capsicum and nettles combine with riper passionfruit and citrus aroma's to create a complex, lifted bouquet.
Palate: Concentrated fruit with fresh but balanced acidity and great length of flavour.
Drink: Drinking well now, this wine can be enjoyed until late 2012. Great as an aperitif or match with seafood, white meats, pasta, salads or Asian cuisine.

Vintage
2009

Winemaking: Our Limited Release Sauvignon Blanc was made from a selection of our most expressive fruit from the 2009 vintage.  It is a blend of grapes grown in two Wairau Valley vineyards - one in the Dillon's Point area of Marlborough and the other in the Raupara area of Marlborough.  Blended these two parcels of fruit result in an impeccably balanced, concentrated and expressive Sauvignon Blanc.

Grapes were crushed and destemmed prior to pressing and fermentation was induced by the introduction of carefully selected yeast strains.  We fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures to preserve the lifted aromatics in this wine.

Colour: Pale straw with green hues.
Bouquet: Passionfruit, gooseberry, citrus, crushed herb and nettle aromas stand out.  Minerality and freshly cut grass notes add complexity.
Palate: Superb structure with intensity of flavour, refreshing acidity and a lingering finish.
Drink: Drinking well now, this wine can be enjoyed until late 2011. Great as an aperitif or match with seafood, white meats, pasta, salads or Asian cuisine.
