Matt grew up on a farm in the King Country of New Zealand.  He completed a degree in viticulture and winemaking at Lincoln University and joined Mount Riley in 2008. Prior to joining Mount Riley, Matt made wine at Craggy Range in the Hawkes Bay and worked vintages in the Napa and Spain.

Matt and wife Amy (Mount Riley's General Manager) live on their Wairau Valley vineyard together with winery dog Ruby and cat Tosca. Outside of work Matt enjoys mountain biking, listening to music & driving tractors around his vineyard.  Email: matt@mountriley.co.nz

Dean Boyce, Winemaker

Dean organises the cellar team and makes all the day to day winemaking decisions at Mount Riley.  Dean grew up in Marlborough.  He completed a Bacheor of Viticulture and Oenology at Lincoln University in 2002 and since then has been working as a winemaker in New Zealand, Australia and even Cyprus.  Outside of work Dean enjoys spending time with his wife Adria and daughter Amelia.  When Amelia who was born in 2007 gets a bit older, Dean hopes to resume his interest in kayaking, windsurfing, mountaineering, soccer, volleyball, fishing and home brewing.
